Overview

Women Deliver is a global advocacy organisation that promotes gender equality, improves the health and rights of girls and women worldwide, and amplifies their voices through policy advocacy and resource mobilisation.

Project Goals

WD2023 Conference brought together influential leaders, advocates, and change-makers dedicated to advancing gender equality and women’s rights, providing a powerful platform for artists and filmmakers addressing critical social issues through creative expressions. This conference was hosted in Kigali, Rwanda, from 17th July to 20th July 2023.

Our Approach

Greeshma Chauhan, Founding Partner at Civic Spectrum created an art piece titled ‘Acts of Courage’ for WD2023, that delves into the intricacies of the relationship between the self and the body. It unpacks the moments of friction and reconciliation between the two, while keeping in mind the existing societal structure that demands compliance from both the self and the body.

Result

The artwork was handpicked to be a part of a curated selection of art by global artists, and was showcased at the Women Deliver 2023 Conference + Arts and Film Festival, from 17th July to 20th July 2023, at Kigali Convention Center, Kigali, Rwanda.
