Annual Report 2023 for Yazidi Legal Network

Overview

We partnered with Yazidi Legal Network to bring out their inaugural Annual Report in 2023. YLN assists the Yazidi community in their fight for justice against crimes committed by ISIS. The network provides access to domestic and international justice mechanisms through investigation, documentation, training, capacity building, and advocacy.

Project Goals

1. Comprehensive Insight: An overview of the Yazidi Legal Network’s activities, achievements, and impact through the year 2023.
2. Visual Storytelling: Utilise compelling art and photography sourced from contributing Yazidi artists, to enhance the visual narrative and overall impact of the report.
3. Design Development: Curate a cohesive typographic and colour palette, integrate visually appealing design elements, and establish a seamless visual flow to elevate the overall aesthetics, readability, and engagement of the report.
4. Content Editing: Enhance the linguistic flow and tonal consistency to achieve a polished and refined narrative in the report’s final output.
5. Stakeholder Engagement: Ensure that the report resonates with a wide audience, including donors, stakeholders, and the general public.

Key Deliverables

1. Executive Summary: A concise overview highlighting the background, history, vision, mission and areas of work.
2. Accomplishments and Milestones: Case studies that showcase the real-world impact of the organisation’s work through research, analysis and case building, database management, legal interventions, education, training, capacity building, outreach, advocacy, and media activities.
3. Survivor Community Support: Highlight ground breaking work in providing Access to Justice – an initiative that connects victims and survivors of international crimes with basic needs and specialist support services, to cope with the impact of the violations they suffered.
4. Visual Elements: Incorporation of art and images to make the report visually appealing and accessible.
5. Future Initiatives: Outline the Yazidi Legal Network’s strategic vision and upcoming projects for the year ahead.

Our Approach

Our approach involved a collaborative and iterative process. We worked closely with the YLN team, and involved Yazidi artists and photographers to capture their unique narrative and present it in a compelling and authentic manner.

Result

The completed 2023 Annual Report was delivered and distributed in the month of December 2023 amongst partners, donors, and stakeholders during a year end event. Going forward, the Annual Report will be one of the most vital tool for communication, advocacy, and donor engagement.
